Frame Tents
Among your many tent choices are frame tents. Like other tent types, a frame tent offers the convenience of
mobility. Tents are excellent set-ups if you need temporary accommodations for a variety of events. Frame tents in
particular have specific advantages over other tent types.
- A frame tent is a very reliable and stable type of accommodation. This is mainly because it does not rely on
ropes or a free standing set up. A typical frame structure uses steel or aluminum poles for support. Pegs may
additionally be used to keep the structure firmly grounded. You never have to worry about accidental tipping
ruining your event or leaving you under a pile of canvas.
- This type of tent offers great protection against heat, cold and wind. Tent material is often canvas or
polyester which provides natural protection. Higher end tents also have the additional feature of insulation. These
tents have double layers that provide excellent insulation.
- These tents aren’t just ordinary empty spaces. Because they are so sturdy, you can set up lights, sounds,
decorations and even air conditioning in them. This makes a frame tent perfect for a variety of special occasions
for a large assembly. Depending on your purpose, your tent can even hold a kitchen and lounge aside from the usual
sleeping area.
- Frame tents come in different sizes. Some can be extremely large and can accommodate full adult heights. That
means there is so much leg space that you’d never have to bend over to fit in. Of course, there are also small
tents for uses that don’t fall within the events accommodation category.
- Canvas and polyester are still generally considered lightweight. The steel poles however often add to the
weight of a frame tent. Because it is less lightweight than other tent types, a frame tent can easily stand its
ground against the wind. You can therefore rely on a properly set up tent even on windy days.
- Just like other tent types, a frame tent is easy to set up. You can quickly put up a tent in minutes even if
you have no experience in setting up tents.
Obviously, a frame tent can have distinct advantages. They can however, also have some disadvantages. Since it
is not as lightweight as other tent types, your tent may not be a good option for all occasions. You definitely
will not want to carry this tent around for hiking or for sleeping in hard to reach campsites.
A frame tent is also usually best for flat surfaces. Although these tents can still be used for camping, you’d
have to make sure that the campgrounds you plan to occupy are flat and level.
As far as tents go, a frame tent is the luxury accommodation of tents. It is therefore often more fitting for
special events than for rough camping. Frame tents are perfect for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and corporate
events. They are convenient, affordable, flexible and definitely not as tacky as they seem.
